Our community

Located in the Upper Sacramento Valley, Corning is a rich agricultural area. The com-munity is identified by the area’s main crop, olives, but other farming is diverse and productive. Many families have lived in Tehama County for generations, and have enjoyed a multitude of recreational activities, such as hunting, fishing, hiking, water and snow skiing. Corning, just 35 miles from CSU, Chico, is an attractive rural setting with affordable housing, making Corning a desirable area to live and raise a family.  Interstate 5 and Highway 99 bisect the District and provide Corning with an easy drive to the mountains, lakes and rivers to the north, Sacramento to the south, and the Bay Area to the southwest.
