Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeterias!

CUESD school cafeterias are ensuring that meals served to students are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school.  

School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains and must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.  Our school meals will surpass state standards requiring:

  • Age-appropriate calorie limits
  • Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce)
  • A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
  • Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
  • More whole grains
  • And less sodium

When available, we offer locally grown fruit and strive to offer CUESD students healthier and tastier choices.

summer meals

Beginning June 7 through July 30, meals can be picked up (breakfast/lunch/supper) between 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. at Corning High School.  All meals (breakfast/lunch/supper) will be bagged together for your convenience and handed out by a drive-through process.  

Starting June 14 through July 16, Corning Elementary will provide a walk-up process at Woodson Elementary between 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.  Parents must park their vehicles and walk up to the Woodson Elementary School cafeteria.  There is no drive-through option.  

Meals can also be picked up at Rancho Tehama Elementary School, Monday through Thursday, June 14 - July 15 from 11:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

All three meal programs are open to students 1-18 years of age.  Please note that no meals will be available on July 5 in observance of Independence Day.

Free and Reduced Meals

All enrolled students in CUESD schools, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive healthy school breakfast and school lunch at no charge each day.  Free and Reduced Meal Information

Alternate menu Choices

NOTE:  Food service will no longer be providing an alternate component for children with food allergies or intolerances. 

Menu substitutions will only be provided for children with a disability as defined under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act with a signed statement from a licensed physician stating that the allergy may result in a severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) reaction.  The doctor's statement must also include substitutions.
